Artist-led, bereavement care packages for freelancers affected by baby loss.
Our bereavement care packages include artist object & poetry created by Alexandrina informed by conversations with diasporic artists who have experience of baby loss, racism and/or ableism.
This offering to freelancers is informed by the Yewande 103 team's own experience & the wider social context around inequalities within maternal health and parental loss.
The 2020 Sue Ryder report on bereavement support in the UK found that in the context of baby loss “a month after bereavement an employee may only be able to function at around a quarter of their prior capacity rising to just under two thirds after six months”. There have been further reports on the racial disparities in maternal and post-partum care.
